Music Programs at LaSalle Academy

Our School proudly offers "public school
opportunities" in a private, Catholic School
                                           setting.  "Students interested in music
                                           may enjoy these extra-curricular opportunities:"

The La Salle Academy Chorus

This Choir doesn't just perform concerts for our school community; all of our concerts are open to the public!  We are also available to perform at community events.
We are honored to perform at Lourdesmont's S.O.B.E.R (Slow On The Bottle, Easy on the Road) event at theViewmont Mall each December, where abstinence from drinking and driving is promoted. We have performed for the Lackawanna County Commission on Drug and Alcohol's Award Ceremony and with the premier adult choir of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Catholic Choral Society, in their Generations Sing and Spring Concerts, and also at local nursing homes and hospitals.

In addition, this chorus sings at our Roman Rite Masses.  Members of this chorus are also selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educator's Association's Song Fest each year.  The chorus rehearses after school on Tuesdays until 3:30 and is open to students in grades 4-8.

The LaSalle Academy Band

The LaSalle Academy Band is one of the only elementary Catholic School bands in Lackawanna County!  Students are taught to read music and play an instrument of their choice during our after-school Band program.  They rehearse on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00.

Band members have participated in the Marywood University Wind Celebration (formerly known as Junior High Honors Band) and the Pennsylvania Music Educators' Association Band Fest.
